“Wolf’s Den Family Campground” in East Haddam, Connecticut - was rated: 5

It was pretty crowded where we were, towards the front in grassy spots. We had some problems with kids walking/bike riding through our site…since it happened so much I wondered whether seasonal kids considered it “the norm.” We also had our camper unplugged while we were at the pool. It did appear deliberate as the cord wasn’t just laying next to the hookups, but looked like it was thrown back towards the camper. No, we didn’t complain, as we figured there wasn’t much the staff could do about it with no witnesses. However, we did take issue with the quiet hour enforcement. The roving watch warned us about quiet time about 20-30 minutes beforehand. He came back 10 minutes beforehand and gave us our “second” warning. I know we were talking a bit loud as there were about 10 of us, so I understand the need for a warning. However, I also observed this gentleman visiting the seasonal campers across from us who were loud and drunk (and had been drinking since mid-morning); he had no issue partaking in their festivities. Pick-and-choose enforcement bugs me! Otherwise, the pool was nice (but terribly crowded), and some of the wooded sites seemed much nicer than where we were. Friends stayed in a rental […]
