“Staunton River State Park” in Scottsburg, Virginia - was rated: 10
This is one of the original six State Parks in Virginia. The campground is great. It is a little tight for bigger rigs, but take it easy and watch your mirrors and no problem. The sites are leveled with good gravel and have all the usual stuff. The pool is large and popular. The hiking trails are excellent and very well maintained. Hike, bike, or horseback are all allowed on the trails. Fishing and boating on the Dan River and Staunton River are popular activities. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
