Sitting in Trinity Texas Waiting on a Car Part

Well, you know that any of our vacations are not complete without at least one disaster. We left Lake Conroe early on Thursday, with plans to drive to the Lake Athens Marina and RV Park, where we were to stay for three nights. We planned to attend FlyFish Texas at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center on Saturday.
We drove as far as Riverside, Texas, where we stopped for gas. When I walked out of the store, I noticed bright green antifreeze leaking out of the Beast, the van we use to pull our travel trailer, Beauty. Of course, my husband was doing his level best to ignore it. I asked Michael to open the hood and, when he did, we knew we were in trouble. We opened the radiator and stood back. The lime green fountain that erupted from the radiator was really quite pretty and it continued for several minutes.
We were in a small town of 482 people, so I worried about what we should do. I asked some local folk if there was a mechanic in town. They said, “No.” Then one of them reconsidered and added, “but there are several mechanics in Trinity, down the road.” I asked how far down the road and they said “about nine miles.” Then one of the men said, “Nick’s is a good place to go.” I thanked them.
