“Pueblo West Campground and Arena” in Pueblo West, Colorado - was rated: 7
We were in one of 6 new back-in sites on a deep bed of loose crushed concrete that desperately needs to be smoothed out to remove tire ruts, etc. The sewer connection was uphill from the pad causing problems dumping for lower diesel coaches. Super Wal-Mart is approximately 1.5 miles away, and handy to downtown. There are a considerable number of permanent residents (what else to expect when you see the bank of mailboxes clearly numbered for each of the 54 sites!!!). No apparent rules or pride in appearance. The fifth wheel next to us had the ground around it totally covered with bicycles, a dirt bike, grills, ATV tires, ice chests, a kiddie wading pool crammed under the rear, and an assortment of unrecognizable debris scattered about … but we saw no children in the two days we were there. This is a no-frills, pretty peaceful location. Any of the pull-through sites would be better than the newer back-ins.
