practice makes Stupid
I wonder how many of you came to the decision about your RV ( or lack of one) ? In our case, we had a pop-up that cratered. We then went on a few trips where we rented various units. Mostly class C and class A Motor homes. There were some pop-ups, semi-popups, and Tow-behind Trailers but we never found a place that rented Fifth Wheelers. We quickly decided that we needed the room in a Class A, and Diesel Pushers were the best from a drivability standpoint. However we quickly realized that they were sort of out of our range. Also the insurance, maintenance, and licensing costs were pretty severe. We stumbled on a truck at the dealer. A used 2006 3500 low-milage diesel with every option offered including a fifth wheel hitch and tow package. I figured we could take our time picking out a used unit because we could tow anything on the lot. Well that was the plan anyhow. More later.
