Now in Fort Myers, FL
From Dauphin Island we continued east on I-10 and then south on I-75 staying a couple of nights at the Blueberry Hill RV Resort in Bushnell (very nice resort) while we tried to find a reasonably priced site in Fort Myers.I called Siesta Key which is right across Summerlin Rd from where my sister is staying but they only had a site by the dumpster with W&E only and still wanted $1185/mo + electric - No Thanks! I also called the Groves, another sun resort - they had nothing available. I then called Fort Myers Campground. She had to call me back the next day but she did call promptly the next morning and had a 50 amp site with clear view of the southern sky for our satellites for $685/mo + electric so we are now at the Fort Myers Campground. It's nine miles from my sister through lots of construction but it's a very nice park right on S. Taimiami Trail (Hwy41). We've done a fair amount of sightseeing. We revisited Fort Myers Beach where we spent a couple of nights in a motel 18 years ago, Sanibel and Captiva Islands, Six Mile Cypress Slouth (highly recommend), Lakes Park at the corner of Gladiolus and 41 (highly recommend). We've seen all kinds of birds and one alligator (at Lakes Park). Yesterday we went through the Ding Darling Wildlife Preserve.
