“Island Acre’s State Park” in Grand Junction, Colorado - was rated: 9
We loved this state park. The park rangers were very nice and helpful. Though there’s not a pool, there is a “swimmin” hole which is actually more like a pond. There’s also a trout area for fishing and license can be bought as you enter the park. We hiked beside the Colorado River which was a definite plus. Along the hiking area, (which I believe is also the pet walk area) there were also “walk-downs” where you could walk a few feet from the path to get to the river and pick up stones or feel it’s coldness and strength. The main bathhouses were nice, but the vault bathrooms reeked terribly.
