“Gallup KOA” in Gallup, New Mexico - was rated: 7

Clean, relatively new, typical KOA with no surprises … and as described by other reviewers. Virtually no trees (no shade), covered with crushed rock (…like a parking lot…); typical Southwest landscaping. A good place to stop for a night or two. Nearby freeway was not that noisy, but trains were very noisy and you could actually feel them at times. Not really a problem for us … seemed to lull us to sleep. Shower arrangement not very good … common entry hall for men and women, with private/locked, windowless shower rooms. We didn…t use it, but looked around; it appeared there was one light switch for all shower rooms (perhaps one could be left in the dark, if someone turned the switch off?). Restrooms were very clean. Wifi arrangement with the adjacent La Quinta was great, but only if you took your laptop and could connect to their DSL. Otherwise, their two PCs were very, very slow. We camped 2 nights with no pets.
