“Edisto Beach State Park” in Edisto Island, South Carolina - was rated: 7

Although this is a lovely State Park and we enjoyed our stay, it is probably not a place I would rush back to. We stayed in the Live Oaks section as the beach parking was full. It had large private sites that were great even though it required a little maneuvering to get in. We had site #87. When we went over to the beach area, we were glad we had ended up in the section we did. It was a little too crowded and tight, and the beach view was nothing great. Yes the water is awful, but what can you expect on a salt marsh. Also, Route 174 into the park was pretty rough and narrow with lots of overhanging trees. Great to look at, but a wicked drive. You should come here at least once to lay back and relax. Ocean walks are great and town is pretty.
