“Indian Line Campground” in Brampton, Ontario - was rated: 1

This is a terrible campground it is right next to a train track that had 200 car trains passing every few hours day and night. The bathrooms were disgusting someone actually crapped in one of the showers, probably because the toilets stalls were all covered in it. All the shower stalls have the […]

“FoxRun Rv Park” in Palmer, Alaska - was rated: 5

This park is too small and cramped, plus it is next to a busy, noisy highway. Good news is the park is clean and the lake is lovely. Unfortunately when we visited, there was a group occupying the limited lake access and it wasn’t comfortable to intrude. The books give it good […]

“Candlestick RV Park” in San Francisco, California - was rated: 8

This is as others described, a parking lot with painted lines between the sites. The sites are small, given that it is the only park in San Francisco where you will not have to drive for an hour and pay the bridge tolls. The 28-day rate is one of the cheapest in the […]

It is a small campground but quaint and a little old-fashioned. The pros are: It is very family oriented with lots of things […]

“Elk Creek Resort” in Piedmont, South Dakota - was rated: 7

We stayed here four nights and the park was quite with good water and electricity. A resort it is not but the sites were fairly level and we were mostly interested in a place to spend the night after a day of sightseeing. They accept PPA and we would stay here again.

“Lakeside RV Park” in Davenport, Iowa - was rated: 1

The boarded-up window at the office tells the story. This campground is neglected and poorly managed. When we arrived with reservations before 5 p.m. there was no one to show us where to go. We called, and the absentee owner returned our call promptly. The site he assigned us was […]

RVer of the Month Selected for August 2009

This Month we feature Travels With Miranda. The story of a Canadian gal, two cats, an RV and the call of the open road. I have been asked if I had some sort of nervous breakdown or quarter-life crisis. Why did I feel a need to run away? That is just the thing. I am […]

“Carol Campsite” in Sudbury, Ontario - was rated: 2

It’s an OK campground if you couldn…t find a Wal-Mart parking lot to sleep in. There is nothing special about this place. Nothing for the kids to do, the playground consisted of an old swing set. Sites were very small and the sewers were far from the trailer. I would not […]
