“Mountain Shadows RV Park” in Wells, Nevada - was rated: 6

This is a good stop over RV Park. The sites are narrow and you need to watch the tree limbs. The Passport America rate was not a full 50% off the going nightly rate, but was reasonable. The Cable TV signal was good. The town of Wells has seen it’s best days many years ago. […]

“Lost Maples State Natural Area” in Vanderpool, Texas - was rated: 8

This is a nice, secluded campground with State Natural Area. We were too early in the season to see the changing of the leaves, but had a great time in this beautiful park. There were several hiking trails, the shortest of which was great even for three 4 year olds. And, the entire park (trails […]

“Rockwell RV Park” in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - was rated: 4

Although this park is conveniently located off I-40, we found the sites to be unkempt and dirty. Our site was littered with old rags, beer bottle caps, fallen branches and lots of leaves. We did get a pull-through site, as requested, but our cable TV connection was on the opposite side of the coach hookups […]

“Dayton KOA” in Brookville, Ohio - was rated: 9

Very well maintained and clean park. There is a small fenced dog run, nice fishing lake and sites are level. We enjoyed the hiking trails and a buffet breakfast which they serve on the weekends. The owners are very nice and helpful. Athough the pool was closed for the season, it […]

“Harmonie State Park” in New Harmony, Indiana - was rated: 6

This was a very nice park, but we thought the price of $25 for Friday and Saturday night was excessive for only having electric. Sunday through Thursday was $17 per night. There was also a $7 entrance fee for non-residents. Indiana residents paid a lower fee.

“Chesapeake Bay Camp Resort (no longer KOA)” in Reedville, Virginia - was rated: 1

Spectacularly disappointing! This a $25 a night campground at best. It is definitely not a resort! The sites are very un-groomed, sand lots, poorly marked, narrow, not well navigable with 40 foot rig. No cable or Wi-Fi and no access for satellite being under the trees. 2 other campers here besides us. […]

“Jim Thorpe Camping Resort” in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania - was rated: 5

Prior to actually camping here I read the reviews of Jim Thorpe Campground posted on this site. They were poor enough that it warranted a visit to scout out the campsite before towing the trailer over. Our initial visit confirmed the negative reviews and we drove away, putting this on the “do not […]

“Stettler Lions Campground” in Stettler, Alberta - was rated: 5

The park is not bad for the price. The only draw back is that the full service sites only have 15 amp power so you have to be real careful not to trip the breaker. Price is good and the campgrounds are close to such things as the golf course and the rec […]

“Campfire Lodgings” in Asheville, North Carolina - was rated: 7

Earlier ratings gave this campground a number of 10s.Things have changed. Once, it was run by a partnership of Stormy and Andy.Stormy has gone and Andy has the friendliness of a cobra with PMS and the attitude of a skunk on steroids. We braved the road up to the campground (and it was […]

“Harrisville State Park” in Harrisville, Michigan - was rated: 7

We found this park to be well laid out with many sites on Lake Huron and several pull-thrus just inland. Pull-thrus are large but trees can be a problem, we found it easier to back into our site. Roads are paved but somewhat narrow with fairly tight turns for larger rigs [we have […]
