“Pioneer River Resort/Bandera” in Bandera, Texas - was rated: 4

There are few shaded sites available and those have only minimal shade provided by small, younger trees. Their website describes the sites as “spacious” but this couldn’t be any further from the truth. They are tiny and they pack people in like sardines, leaving lots of empty spaces between rigs. There is […]

“Skyline Ranch RV Park” in Bandera, Texas - was rated: 7

There is nothing wrong with this park, but there’s nothing spectacular about it either. The sites are a decent size, the staff is friendly, and the grounds are well-maintained. It is quiet. There is nothing about it that would prevent us from visiting again.

“Big Bone Lick State Park” in Union, Kentucky - was rated: 5

We stayed overnight at this campground in route to Michigan. The grounds were well manicured and very green. The showers were very small and not real clean and poorly lit. There were only two in the ladies room. There was a shower for the handicapped but it was out of order. […]

“Oak Creek Campground” in Bowmansville, Pennsylvania - was rated: 7

We have stayed at several campgrounds in the area and this one was ok. The site that we had was not real easy to get into but there were others that looked like it would have been much easier to use. The major thing that I would caution people about is the steep […]

“Spanish Flat Resort” in Napa, California - was rated: 5

This park will be closing July 13. Very minimal hookups. We dried camp in our RV. Convenient place for launching your boats. Dusty dirty camping. Obnoxious loud foul mouthed campers. People above us were wasted. A few had fallen and rolled down the hill and some were puking […]

“Nelson’s Nantahala Hideaway” in Topton, North Carolina - was rated: 10

Appropriately named, Nelson’s Nantahala Hideaway is tucked away on the side of a hill in Topton and is virtually hidden from the highway. None of the traffic was visible or audible to us during our stay there. It was also sparsely populated for the week we spent there. The campground manager, Gray, […]

“Rivers Fork Lodge and RV Park” in North Fork, Idaho - was rated: 9

Rate reflects after tax. Would Woodalls give this a 9 or 10? No. You will not find this park in Woodalls. What this park lacks in amenities they make up for in setting and the nicest staff you will find anywhere. If you want an absolutely beautiful setting,(on the river) 50 […]

“Chipmunk Crossing RV Park & Campground” in West Plains, Missouri - was rated: 10

Way off the beaten path, but worth the drive. If you want quiet and country, this is the place! Owners are outstanding, helpful, and unobtrusive. Campground is absolutely perfect in terms of landscaping and size. Three big pull-throughs are located near the front, and back-ins are to the rear. All sites […]
