“North Abutment” in Grenada, Mississippi - was rated: 8

Nice campground. They were doing some construction when we were there but it was shielded by a tree line. It was very hot and the water table was very low but the hosts were very friendly. The sites were concrete and easy to back into. The dump site was easy to […]

“Winngray Family Campground” in Waynesville, North Carolina - was rated: 5

The campground was ok, but we were told we would have a pull thru site next to the friends we were traveling with. We got a back in site several sites away from our friends. We made our reservations months in advance. The campground was mostly senior citizens from Florida. Not […]

“Bay Hide Away RV Park & Campground” in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi - was rated: 8

We enjoyed our stay here. We had camped here before the Hurricane and wanted to stop back in and see how they were doing. The owners are very nice and helpful. The bathhouse is one of the best we have seen and they just finished their pavilion and added an air conditioned […]

“Douthat State Park” in Clifton Forge, Virginia - was rated: 10

This is a beautiful park with excellent facilities. The toilets and shower house were very clean. The personnel in the park were very friendly. This has been a dry year, but normally fly fishing available nearby, a lake to kayak, and lots of hiking trails. Located just north of I64, it’s […]

Although this is an old park, they are working to update. The bathrooms and showers weren’t bad, and the whole feel of the place was certainly better the the place across the road.

I drove through here and the whole place looked old and rundown, and appeared to have a lot of permanent residents. Did not stay.

“Oak Plantation Campground” in Charleston, South Carolina - was rated: 7

This park is clean, well maintained and patrolled. I was stopped by the park speed monitor, she came running after me while I was speeding at 15 mph. We stayed here two nights while visiting Charleston. Many paved pull through sites available but, I had to back in for satellite coverage.

“Roaring Springs Ranch Club” in Roaring Springs, Texas - was rated: 7

This campground was a surprise, to say the least. It’s out in the middle of nowhere. However, it is very nice and even has a golf course. Some of the campsites are right on the course. There are a couple very small towns within 10 miles, but if you arrive on […]

“Bottomless Lakes State Park” in Roswell, New Mexico - was rated: 8

Another lovely NM State Park. 20 miles from Roswell, but close enough to get there when needed. We would definitely stay here again.

“Pine Island RV Resort” in Jay, Oklahoma - was rated: 9

This is a lovely campground that has sites overlooking a beautiful lake. The roads are good. The campground has just about everything; indoor heated pool, outdoor pool, heated indoor fishing dock (I heard they were pulling 50-60 lb catfish out this summer), small store, etc. We stayed on a site that had […]
