“Lake Pleasant Regional Park” in Phoenix, Arizona - was rated: 9

Beautiful park. The views of the lake are amazing. It is a great oasis in the desert. Be sure to make a stop at the visitor center to learn more about the area. The sites are paved and level. We had no problems getting into our site.

“Spider Rock Campground” in Chinle, Arizona - was rated: 9

If you want to see Canyon de Chelly, stay at the free NPS campground. If you want to experience Canyon de Chelly, stay at Spider Rock. It is an experience. The silence is amazing. Bring your generator. Fill your fresh water supply. Then prepare yourself for an adventure. […]

“Rustic Acres RV Park” in New Douglas, Illinois - was rated: 2

Keep driving. This place is a dump. Almost all of the sites are permanent or seasonal campers. The septic was full for our full hook up site–if you can call it a site. They sent a school bus equipped with a sewer pump and tank to pump out the septic–now that […]

“Marion Campground & RV Park” in Marion, Illinois - was rated: 8

Good for an overnight stay, which is all I needed. Park was inhabited by several working types who had about 10 vehicles and 2 park models, complete with pit bull. I know that is not the park’s fault, but it was there just the same. Close to the highway, but not marked […]

“Weldon Springs State Park” in Clinton, Illinois - was rated: 2

Quoting the IDNR brochure “Named by Family Circle magazine to be one of the ‘Top Twenty Campgrounds in American’…” NOT EVEN CLOSE! Family Circle should stick to printing recipes and home decorations. Clearly, Family Circle knows nothing about campgrounds. The state of IL should be embarrassed not only for using that quote […]

“St. Louis West KOA” in Eureka, Missouri - was rated: 5

This was an ok park, fine for an overnight stay if you don’t mind the sound of trains through out the night. It seems they were pretty frequent and I am a light sleeper. Not all sites were level. Some sites were somewhat close. The park was clean.

“Natchez Trace Thousand Trails/NACO” in Hohenwald, Tennessee - was rated: 7

We camped here using the Thousand Trails membership. We were in Phase 2, site 2 with full hookups. Would like to have had 50 amp but 30 amp did fine. We had a patio, table, grill. Our internet ,on the roof of our motorhome, worked but we had to use a […]

“Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort” in Cloverdale, California - was rated: 8

This campground is in the woods with paved interior roads and paved campsite parking pads. They have room for big rigs in some areas, although getting around the narrow roads between the trees can be a challenge for big rigs to access some sites. There is a nice trail to the rocky beach. […]

“Overland RV Park” in Van Buren, Arkansas - was rated: 7

This campground was exactly what we were looking for on a one night stop. It was close to the freeway, but not so close as to catch the noise. All sites are spacious, level and clean. Most sites are pull thru. The grooming of the place was immaculate. There are […]

We stopped here on our way home from Yellowstone. Very nice park. We had a lake view and the sites are spacious. The park is well maintained. There is a $4.00 park entrance fee on top of the nightly rate. We stayed 4 nights. There is full hookup available […]
