“DeSoto State Park” in Fort Payne, Alabama - was rated: 9

DeSoto has some beautiful scenery on location and short distances away. The pull throughs are nice sized and pretty level. Very peaceful and quiet. We enjoy camping in the mountains and the woods and this place had both.

“Sun Resort RV Park” in Apopka, Florida - was rated: 3

We had reserved through RPI, but on arrival they had no record of our reservation. They accepted our reservation and when we asked for full hook-ups, at first refused. After checking availability of full hook-ups the receptionist found a recent cancellation and offered us a full hook-up site. Had our reservation been […]

“Tejas Valley RV Park & Campground” in San Antonio, Texas - was rated: 10

Dennis & I really enjoyed our stay. The people in the office & are very friendly & quick to respond. There’s groceries & such in the office shop & also a really good pizza cafe on the premises. Various cafes & restaurants, big HEB grocery stores & shopping centers are not far. […]

“Encore Royal Coachman RV Resort” in Nokomis, Florida - was rated: 1

This park is a rip off. Streets are narrow. I don’t know who wrote up their website, but it is a fabrication. Sites very difficult to maneuver into. Lots of trees, sap, and cones falling. Absolutely without a doubt would not stay in this park or recommend ever…

campout #1

last weekend we took the trailer out for the first time this season to barkcamp state park (OHIO)  we got into a lot of rain halfway down.  heavy rain, dark, spray, fog–it was terrible driving but we got in to the camp.  there was so much mud next to the door, we moved to another […]

“Encore Tropical Palms Fun Resort” in Kissimmee, Florida - was rated: 7

Park was well suited as a base for going to Disney/Universal, but is turning into a high priced trailer park with pink and teal colored mobile homes being sold as vacation homes. This draws folks who have no empathy with RV’ers. I had problems with folks parking their SUV’s in the road (RV’s […]

State Park “Shakedown”

Well, we went out on our first "shakedown" trip with our new rig… spent an entire week at another Fabulous Florida State Park… found a few things that needed fixin' in the rig… bad television set, finicky door, learning how to tow our car… and it all wen't really well overall.  The WORST part of the […]

“Enchanted Trails Camping Resort” in Albuquerque, New Mexico - was rated: 9

This is a good park in a good location. Although it is very near I-40, we did not notice a lot of road noise. It is beside a Camping World and is a PA and Good Sam Park. The price we paid is averaged out for 2 days under PA and one […]

“Western Horizon’s Camp Verde RV Resort” in Camp Verde, Arizona - was rated: 7

We camped here under AOR. The rate was $6 + $1 for 30 amp/night. Our site had electric and water only. Park seems fine and has activities in the clubhouse. We were expecting full hook-ups and wi-fi. When we checked in, they said our site was EW only and the […]

“Meteor Crater RV Park” in Meteor Crater, Arizona - was rated: 7

We generally agree with all of the comments made previously. The first 2 nights were under PA (electricity and water only) for $12 per night. The 3rd night was full price so we moved sites to a full hook-up site. They did give us a reduction for Good Sam Club. When […]
